Calloway Co. Fire Rescue is looking for anyone age 18 or over that is interested in helping out Calloway County through the volunteer fire service. CCFR has 11 fire stations scattered around Calloway Co. and needs help in all areas of the county. It is ok if you do not have a firefighter background because our volunteers are very diverse and come from all walks of life. We provide our Recruits with all the training and equipment at no cost. You will learn life saving skills and experience the excitement that goes with responding to emergency calls. If you have any questions CCFR members will be glad to assist you. The Volunteer Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician (Volunteer FF/EMT) serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. They perform within the scope of the policies and procedures of Hendron Fire & Rescue and they perform duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material responses, training, building inspections and public education. The Volunteer FF/EMT normally works under the supervision of a company officer and is expected to function effectively as part of a highly trained team. They are also expected to perform their duties under adverse conditions and physical conditions that may pose a high risk of personal injury or exposure to hazardous conditions or infectious diseases.
