Bostian Heights Fire Department is a combination fire department that has a service district of approximately 40 square miles and approximately 9,000 citizens. Bostian Heights Fire Department was established in 1959 and went to combination staffing module in the early 2000's. The department currently runs an average of 2,000 emergency incident in a year in the categories of fire, medical and rescue. Volunteer staffing is always welcomed into our fire house family. Currently, the fire department has 3 shifts that alternate throughout the week, working at total of 120 shifts at 24 hours at a time. The department is very aggressive in education and hands on training. Volunteering takes time away from friends and family and is a very large commitment.
