The Dafter Township Fire Department is seeking dedicated and community-minded individuals to serve as Volunteer Firefighters. This role involves responding to emergency situations, including fires, medical incidents, rescues, and hazardous material events. Volunteers will undergo training to develop the skills needed to protect lives and property while working as part of a professional and committed team. • Respond to fire, medical, and emergency calls within Dafter Township and surrounding areas. • Operate and maintain firefighting and emergency response equipment. • Perform fire suppression, search and rescue, and hazardous materials containment. • Assist with emergency medical services and provide basic first aid as needed. • Participate in regular training sessions, drills, and continuing education. • Conduct fire prevention and safety education within the community. • Maintain fire station facilities, vehicles, and equipment. • Work as part of a team under the direction of the Fire Chief and officers. | Requirements: • Must be at least 18 years old (or meet department age requirements). • High school diploma or GED (preferred). • Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean record. • Ability to pass a background check and physical exam. • Willingness to complete required firefighter training. • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Commitment to attending emergency calls, training, and department activities. | Categories: Firefighter
