Assist with maintaining the trails at Pine Hollow Arboretum to ensure they are safe and accessible for visitors. Tasks include clearing debris, repairing paths, and general upkeep of the trail system.

Help with gardening tasks such as weeding and planting to maintain the beauty and health of the arboretum's diverse plant collections. Volunteers will work alongside staff to support the arboretum's horticultural needs.

Staff the Visitor’s Center reception desk and gift shop for 3.5-hour time slots either in the mornings or afternoons Monday through Saturday. Training is provided.

Support social functions by volunteering at events or providing refreshments or other items as called upon (e.g., Fall Festival, Maples Open Houses, Get Outdoors Day, Tabling events).

Participate in community science programs to collect important wildlife data while spending time outdoors. These programs are managed by the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Five Rivers staff.

Guide ecology lessons for kindergarten through 8th grade students on weekdays. Training is provided, and you can set your own schedule.

Support Friends of Five Rivers with database management, mailing, and filing.

Assist with week-long programs in July & August. Students will receive volunteer hours for Honor Society and other club requirements. Must be at least 14 years old.

Join the Buckingham Pond Conservancy for their Spring Clean-up event, typically held in May. Volunteers will help with park maintenance tasks such as trash removal and invasive plant management. Tools are provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and clippers.

Participate in the Fall Clean-up event organized by the Buckingham Pond Conservancy, usually in October or November. Volunteers will engage in activities such as trash collection and invasive species removal to maintain the park's beauty.

Assist with the shoreline stabilization project by planting native species to reduce erosion and improve wildlife habitat. Volunteers will work under the guidance of the More Trees crew to plant over 60 new plants along the pond's shoreline.

Participate in various farm activities including watering, weeding, planting, transplanting, washing pots, and general farm chores. Volunteers can also engage in office work such as bookkeeping, grant writing, and marketing.

Assist community members with building resumes, job applications, and job searching. Volunteers will provide guidance and support to help individuals improve their employment prospects.

Help organize and facilitate cultural and community events. Volunteers will assist with event planning, coordination, and execution to promote cultural understanding and community engagement.

Teach Farsi language classes to help preserve and promote the linguistic heritage of the community. Volunteers will conduct classes and provide language support to learners.

Teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to community members seeking to improve their language skills. Volunteers will conduct classes and provide language support to enhance English proficiency.
