The West Manchester Township Fire Department is a busy suburban 100% Volunteer Fire Department that responds to 850 calls for service annually. Tour guides engage the public on scheduled walking tours by sharing history and stories at cemeteries and on downtown walking tours. They start as apprentices and can become official docents, helping to research and develop new tour material. Volunteers generally commit to 3-6 hours per month.

Inspect Equipment Communities rely on Volunteer Firefighters to inspect and maintain fire trucks, ladders, hoses and other fire-fighting equipment.
