Here is what you should think about as you consider applying: •You will fill out an application, your background will be checked, you will be interviewed by Department representatives and, if recommended, approved by the Village of Fayetteville Board of Trustees. •You will be required to attend a Department orientation soon after you're acceptance. •You will be asked what area most interests you (fire or EMS) and assigned a mentor who has experience with the Department. •You will be expected to move along in a progression to realize your goals and to develop skills you can use as a Department volunteer. •Though you won't be receiving gear or uniforms until later, upon entry you will be issued a Department T-shirt which will identify you as an active, probationary recruit. •You will be on probation for six months at which point the membership will vote to continue or terminate your membership in the Department. •You should be prepared to spend one to two years taking classes and dedicating time to observing and responding before you will become a fully productive member. The Manlius Fire Department is located 5 miles east of the City of Syracuse in the heart of Central New York. Operating two stations, the Manlius Fire Department provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the Village of Manlius, the Town of Manlius and the Town of Pompey. The Fire Department covers approximately 27 square miles of both residential, commercial and agricultural properties. The "Department" consists of four separate entities. The "Fire Department" is owned by the village. Since 1813 volunteers have been providing, and continue to provide, service to our community. In 1987, with the exodus of industry and commercial operations in the village, the first career fireman was hired to ensure an apparatus operator or emt for daytime response. Live within the Sullivan Fire District No.1 or one of it's fire protection areas. This includes the Village of Chittenango and parts of the Town of Sullivan and Town of Fenner. 2. New members are expected to complete basic recruit training within their first year, if the course is available. All fire and EMT training is provided free of charge. 3. Participate in fire company business meetings, fundraisers, work details and social functions, including the annual banquet and picnic.\ 4. Volunteers at the House help welcome families and visitors, keep the House neat and tidy, answer and direct phone calls, accept donations, and conduct guest family check-ins and check-outs. They also help keep the kitchens clean and prep or heat up meals for guests when necessary.

The Red Shoe Society is a professional membership group dedicated to furthering the mission of RMHC of CNY. Members recruit volunteers, raise funds, and spread awareness of RMHC of CNY and its work in the community.

Special Event Volunteers assist with annual fundraising events like the RMHC of CNY Golf Invitational and the Many Hearts One Home Celebration. They help with tasks such as ticket sales, recruiting sponsors, selling ad space, and soliciting auction items.

Made up of high school students from Central New York, the Youth Advisory Board creates projects that educate young people about the value of philanthropy and volunteerism. They plan and conduct fundraising events, community events, and volunteer activities.

Sort donations in our food pantry, ensuring that food items are properly organized and distributed to those in need. Volunteers will help with inventory management and client assistance.

Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, answering phones, and other office duties. Volunteers will help ensure the smooth operation of our programs and services.

Ring a bell at one of our iconic red kettles from early November through Christmas Eve, raising funds that change lives all year long. Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $50 per hour.

Serve in our soup kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals to individuals and families in need. Volunteers will also assist with cleaning and maintaining the kitchen area.
