As a mentor, you will guide and support students in our leadership development program, sharing your experiences and best practices to help them grow. This role involves engaging with students across various cultural and professional backgrounds.

Support small food businesses owned by women of color by becoming a Hot Bread Kitchen mentor. Volunteers with knowledge and expertise in business, operations, supply chain, packaging, and the food industry are needed.

Provide coaching to a food entrepreneur whose business is poised for growth. Deep knowledge in starting and running a business is needed, and knowledge about the food industry is preferred but not required.

Respond to discrete food business questions. Volunteers with technical expertise in key aspects of operating a food business, like food science, consumer packaged goods, supply chain management, and/or labeling and packaging are needed.

Provide entrepreneurs with feedback on their product and business framework. General knowledge about business operations is needed, and knowledge about the food industry is preferred but not required.

Give back to the Park by gardening alongside our amazing Horticulture staff by volunteering as a Neighborhood Gardener. Learn more about the flora and fauna while developing your green thumb in your community’s backyard!

At Blue Team events, volunteers remove marine debris from our Gansevoort Peninsula shoreline alongside dedicated River Project scientists and our WasteShark, a remote-controlled aquadrone that can remove hard-to-reach plastic pollution from the River.

Join our enthusiastic team of Saturday volunteers who meet regularly to roll up their sleeves and meet their neighbors while beautifying a specific section of the Park.

Special Event Volunteers get a behind-the-scenes look at the Park’s event execution, with opportunities to greet and provide information to the public, administer surveys, help facilitate programs, act as Park ambassadors and more!

Assist in hosting a table at events such as Bike Valet. Volunteers will engage with event attendees and provide information about Bike JC's mission and activities.

Volunteers will serve as marshals for our Ward Tour, Light-Up Rides, and Bike Bus. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and organization of participants during events.

Volunteer as a Mathematics or English Tutor to help students improve their academic performance. Ideal for high school or college students with a high GPA or teachers interested in making a difference.

Assist with box office duties and ushering at North River Sing concerts. Volunteers will help manage ticket sales and guide attendees to their seats, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all concert-goers.

Help with venue setup and breakdown for North River Sing concerts. Volunteers will assist in preparing the concert space and ensuring all equipment and materials are in place before and after events.
