This is a youth development program run by West Jackson Fire Department. It is designed to teach young people about firefighting and other emergency services while building important life skills. It is also used to help future firefighter recruitment. Included with the application is a parental consent that must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. The application must be approved by the West Jackson Fire Chief, and advisors of the program. • The applicant must be enrolled in public, private, or home school in good standing who meet the attendance regulations as set forth by federal, state, or local authorities; a student must maintain a course grade average or the equivalent of the letter “C” in all courses of study; and • The junior firefighter shall provide a copy of their academic progress report information to the lead advisor of the program every time one is received. | Categories: Junior Members
