Under the supervision of the Fire Chief, the Volunteer Firefighter performs advanced firefighting work in preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires, responding to hazardous materials incidents and emergency calls which include special rescue situations such as vehicle and steep angle rescue. | Requirements: Requirements include: - be 18 years of age or older; - have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in an educational program leading to a diploma or equivalent; - have no serious criminal record; - possess a level of physical fitness adequate to perform strenuous physical tasks; - no facial hair that interferes with the fit of a respirator (SCBA) mask; - have a commitment to community service and a strong desire to serve as a firefighter; - be willing to abide by the policies and regulations of the department.
