Join Emily at the library on Tuesday afternoons through August 12th, from 1 PM - 3 PM, for a variety of activities to give back to the library and our community. Each week features a different project, and teens are encouraged to bring their own ideas for collaboration.

Help plan publicity for Rush Historical Society events and programs, potentially developing a semi-annual newsletter and other outreach materials. Volunteers will work with the Publicity Chair to enhance the society's visibility.

Assist the Town Historian in planning the annual tree lighting, caroling, and refreshments at the Udicious Pavilion in December. Volunteers will help organize and execute the event.

Help maintain the health and resilience of the important ecosystems living at the BANC sanctuary. Invasive plants and animals threaten nature’s balance and are a constant and growing challenge.

Volunteers will assist in the operation of the food pantry, helping to distribute food to those in need. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, organizing food items, and assisting clients during pantry hours.

Volunteers at the library assist with cleaning library materials and preparing them for shelving. This role supports the library's operations and ensures materials are ready for public use.

Volunteers in the Book Shoppe Team are responsible for accepting book donations, sorting them, and selling them. The sales support library programs and initiatives.

We also welcome anyone from the community to visit us at our drill night on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm. Someone is always on hand to answer questions and help you though the application process. Applicants need to be a resident of the Pittsford Fire District and be at least 18 years of age. For residents under the age of 18, please consider joining our Explorer Post. After submission of the application, an applicant will meet with the Membership Committee. As an applicant, you will be required to pass a background check, a drug test and a physical as part of the application process. All applicants will require approval of the Fire Department and the Fire District for membership. | Requirements: Being a member of the Fire Department is a manageable commitment. Members will be required to meet minimum standards for training, minimum response to emergencies and associated activities such as meetings. Training drills are conducted once a week and Company Meetings are held once a month. All training including initial Firefighter 1 Certification is provided to volunteers at no cost.
