Hastings Fire department has 2 full time staff and Firefighter EMT and the Fire chief. We have 11 paid on call members. The department responds to approximately 1000 calls annually. we cover 148 Sq. miles in 5 townships and the city of Hastings population of 17,000. | Requirements: We are accepting applications from interested members of the community, who live within our fire district, No experience required! Must be 18 years old, unless applying as a cadet. FFI/II with EMT or MFR license preferred, however we will train the appropriate applicant. Must have a valid Drivers Lic, pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Applicants with no licenses must be willing to take the FFI/II class within 24 months of joining the department, all fees paid by the department.
