Share skills in marketing, editing, newsletter writing, and website development to support Kentucky Heartwood's outreach efforts.

Participate in fieldwork activities like measuring trees and cataloging plants and animals. Requires hiking off trail in rugged terrain up to 6 miles.

Volunteer at the annual music festival in Millville, KY, with roles in setup, ticket sales, flyer distribution, and parking.

Serve a two-year term on the Forest Council, attending monthly meetings and serving on committees. Requires an average of 1-2 hours per week, with more during special events.

Assist with stuffing and stamping envelopes a couple of times per year at the Berea office.

The Red Lick Volunteer Fire Department is a small rural department that is looking for volunteers. We live and work in the Red Lick Fire District or nearby. Some of the volunteers are professional firefighters with other departments. But most of us have ordinary jobs. This makes for a tight nit group of people that depend on each other when it matters most. The training required to be a fire fighter is interesting and based in reality. If you want to help your community while working with and learning from skilled and hardworking people, join us today. Our meetings are Thursday nights at 7pm. Please feel free to stop by the station during a meeting to learn about joining. | Requirements: Not every fire fighter is a smoke eater that rushes into burning buildings. We certainly need those people, but they can't do what they do without fire fighters that drive trucks, operate pumps, direct traffic, and so much more.
