Members of REINBECK FIRE DEPARTMENT appreciate your interest in joining our team. The Reinbeck Fire Department was first organized in 1892 with 15 original members organizing themselves into a “hose company”. Over 120 years have passed since then and the Reinbeck Fire Department has developed as a volunteer community & rural Fire, EMS & Rescue organization with a high degree of professionalism. We have significant responsibilities to the citizens of Reinbeck and the rural areas we serve & protect. We are stewards in our community and we work hard to preserve & protect life & property in our Fire & EMS district. In order to continue with the high standards we have set for ourselves & our citizens, a procedure has been established to screen applications for membership to the Reinbeck Fire Department. | Requirements: If accepted as a member of the Reinbeck Fire Department, you will be expected to help maintain our high level of professionalism within our community as you are representing all members of this public safety department at any time. In order to accomplish this worthy task, you will be expected to maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. You will also be expected to be available to attend training sessions and give freely of your time to attend fires, EMS calls, meetings, drills / practice sessions and work on committees to help further the mission & vision of the Reinbeck Fire Department. Fire & EMS Training meetings are held the SECOND MONDAY of each month and Business meetings are held the LAST MONDAY of each month. There are also times that special training sessions are scheduled as needed and might be held on weekends. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Monthly equipment inspections & vehicle maintenance checks • Helping to maintain cleanliness of all vehicles & equipment • Personal gear & protective equipment checks • Station housekeeping duties • Maintaining any Fire / EMS or Rescue certifications that you may obtain as a member • Voting privileges • Submitting to a baseline physical exam to determine the ability to physically & safety perform the required duties of a firefighter | Categories: Firefighter, EMT
