Boston Volunteer Fire and Rescue is currently accepting applications for volunteer fire fighters. Our department was founded in 1985 and currently covers approximately 46 square miles of rural community. Our department relies solely on volunteers to provide fire protection to the citizens within our district. Along with fire suppression, we also provide rescue and emergency medical services. Help with the transport of animals to foster homes or partner shelters, ensuring safe and efficient travel.

Provide a temporary home for pets in need, helping them adjust and become better family members before adoption.

Assist at adoption events to help match shelter animals with potential adopters, providing information and support to visitors.

Join the ongoing effort to clean up litter from local trails and parks. Volunteers are encouraged to keep gloves and trash bags in their vehicles to help clean up while hiking. Share your cleanup photos with the organization to be featured on their page.

Volunteer as a dog walker to help exercise and socialize dogs at the Hardin County Animal Shelter, contributing to their well-being and adoptability.
