We need additional volunteers to become firefighters and/or basic emergency medical services responders (CFRs or EMTs), but we also have the need for scene support personnel (auxiliary members) and administrative support personnel (business members). Multiple roles may be chosen, and members can change their roles at any time after joining. | Requirements: The minimum age to apply is 16, and there is no maximum age as long as personal health and ability are suitable for the role(s) chosen. Assist in the operation of TCRM’s Food Pantry by helping to distribute food to those in need. Volunteers will help stock shelves, organize food items, and assist guests during their visits.

Contribute to building and repairing handicap ramps during the spring and summer. Volunteers with skilled craft abilities are needed to ensure accessibility for those in need.

Firefighters serve their communities by responding to fires and other emergencies. As a Trail Captain, you will be responsible for a section of the trail, including mapping using GPS, annual maintenance, and communicating with landowners. You will ensure riders stay on posted trails and maintain good relations with landowners.

Assist in offering free clothing to neighborhood families. Volunteers help sort, organize, and distribute clothing on a weekly basis.

Join the Shepherd's Supper Team to help feed the hungry and lonely of the community on a monthly basis. Volunteers assist in meal preparation and serving.

Help arrange space and cook breakfast for bi-monthly Saturday blood drives. Volunteers ensure the event runs smoothly and assist donors as needed.

Assist in worship services by helping congregants find seating and ensuring the service runs smoothly. Volunteers work in teams and are scheduled on a monthly rotation.

Assist in the annual Christmas Toy Distribution event by helping to organize toys and assist guests in selecting the perfect gifts for their children. Volunteers will help create a joyful experience for families in need.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman Volunteers set aside a few hours each week to visit a local long-term care facility to help promote the quality of life for residents. Ombudsmen advocate on behalf of residents and often work closely with residents, their families, and facility staff to resolve problems to ensure the best quality of care. A free 36-hour training program is offered throughout the year for new ombudsmen.

HIICAP Volunteers provide one-on-one assistance to Medicare beneficiaries, helping them select supplemental insurance, prescription drug coverage, and alerting them to special programs. Volunteers receive free training and regular updates through monthly in-services.

Join SPARE Productions for a car wash and bake sale event. Volunteers will assist with washing cars, organizing baked goods, and interacting with attendees to ensure a successful fundraiser.

Assist with various conservation projects aimed at preserving natural landscapes and enhancing outdoor recreational opportunities. Volunteers may engage in activities such as habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and educational outreach.

Join one of our committees if you have a background in finance or are skilled at organizing events. Help us manage finances or organize fundraising events.

Assist with room projects by painting, sewing, assembling furnishings, or lending a hand with other tasks. Room Project Managers may contact you directly or we will reach out via email with upcoming volunteer opportunities.

Lead a room project by meeting with the child and their family to develop a design that meets the medical and healing needs of the child. Work with a team of volunteers to complete the room project.

Check-in on adoptable cats located at the Vestal PetSmart. This role includes petting the cats and changing their bedding, ensuring they are happy and healthy.
