Applicants age 18 and above: Firefighter and Firefighter/EMT: responds to fire and/or EMS calls and actively participates in firefighting or EMS duties and training. Applicants age 16 & 17: Junior Member: Age 16-17, responds to fire and/or EMS calls, assists firefighters or EMTs in performance of duties but does not actively engage in firefighting. Prospective Junior or Regular Probationary applicants must live in Green Brook or within 10 minutes of Firehouse #1 or Firehouse #2. The regular probation period is 1 year. In that time frame you must be able to attend and pass a NJ State certified Firefighter 1 Course. The FF 1 course is usually 2 nights a week and 1 day on the weekend for approximately 3.5 months.
