Assist with various events such as Halloween Spooktacular, Lantern Tours, Santa on the Carousel, Birthday parties, and other events.

Run both the full-size 1916 carrousel and the 1930s kiddie carrousel. Ensure an educational and safe ride for all visitors. Operators for the 1916 #1 Special Carrousel must be 18 or older, and operators for the Kiddie Carrousel must be 16 or older.

Guide tours for children and adult groups and interact with walk-in visitors throughout the museum to interpret the factory’s history.

Help the museum with upkeep and maintenance activities, including carpentry and painting. This role is available on Mondays and Fridays from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Write grants for specific projects that AWARE is working toward. This role is crucial for securing funding for wildlife rehabilitation efforts.

Help build and repair flight cages and displays for wildlife rehabilitation. This role requires skilled craft or trade abilities.

Assist in capturing and restraining wildlife alongside a licensed rehabilitator. Training is required and will be provided.

Help set up and take down displays, and engage with the public during educational events. Handling birds requires licensing from the NYS DEC.

Do you have a special talent for creating arts and crafts? Share your talent by teaching a class at our Social Centre. Our members and visitors enjoy DIY projects that they can take home.

Intergenerational Programs enhance learning! If you enjoy working with children, volunteer for a few hours a month in programs like HISTOP, Pen Pals, or Reading Program. School-age children throughout the Lockport City School District benefit from interactions with our volunteers.

Our Dial-A-Lift service picks members up at their homes on Monday-Friday mornings and brings them into The Centre, providing a return trip home after lunch. Volunteers with a safe driving record are needed to drive our mini-van. You choose your day and hours!

Our Monday Sewers (9:30 am) and Tuesday Candy Makers (9:30 am) are friendly groups of volunteers who welcome new people. Sewing projects range from baby blankets and bibs to walker bags, all donated to local charities. Candy is made September through May and sold in the Centre to support programs and services.

Make regular phone calls to seniors to ensure their well-being and provide friendly conversation. This role can be performed from home or office.

Volunteers assist adults with mild memory loss on Mondays or Fridays (10:00 am-2:00 pm) in our senior centre. Activities include baking, gardening, learning, socializing, eating lunch, creating, and providing peer support.

If you enjoy doing office work, our front desk volunteer job could be right for you. Tasks include greeting and assisting visitors, answering phones, and confirming classes and trips. We also need friendly volunteers to help with bulk mailings throughout the month.

Friday night Bingo is the biggest fundraiser at The Dale Association with proceeds going to programs and services for the elderly. Volunteers help set up, sell tickets, call numbers, handle cash payouts, and clean up afterwards. Work once a month or more from 5:30-9:30 pm.
