The position of firefighter takes a special type of person that is willing to give of their time to train and educate themselves. They must prepare mentally and physically to respond to emergencies in our community. The Savoy Fire Department hires new applicants at least once per year and possibly more frequently than that based on the needs of the department and the amount of applications it has received. Applications can be submitted from anyone with no experience at any time but will be processed only at the time of a new probationary program being scheduled to begin. General Members support the organization by participating in events and educational activities. They help raise awareness about service dogs and assist in various tasks as needed by the organization.

Fill various rehearsal and tech staff positions for musical productions. No experience is required for many positions, and staff members help with the preparation and execution of shows.

Join the pit orchestra to play for musical productions and tech week rehearsals. Rehearsals are typically held once a week before tech week.

Participate as a cast member in musical productions, with roles varying by show. Rehearsals are typically held five times a week for about two months leading up to the show date.

Assist Eco-Justice Collaborative with planning or implementing local events. Volunteers will help organize logistics, coordinate with partners, and ensure successful event execution.

Write short articles for Eco-Justice Collaborative's discussion section or newsletter. Volunteers will research and compose content that aligns with the organization's mission and current campaigns.

Assist in protecting the Mahomet Aquifer from CO2 pollution by participating in advocacy and educational campaigns. Volunteers will work to raise awareness and prevent unsafe practices that threaten the aquifer.

Work with Eco-Justice Collaborative to stop unsafe CO2 pipelines through Illinois. Volunteers will engage in community outreach and policy advocacy to ensure public safety and environmental protection.

Help support Eco-Justice Collaborative's work to bring tree equity to underserved communities in Illinois. Volunteers will assist in planning and implementing tree planting events and educational programs.

Assist with various tasks during the Fallin’ Into Blues event, including handing out promo cards, staffing tables, and assisting with dance lessons. Volunteers will help promote bluesCENTRAL's activities and engage with event attendees.

Volunteers will scan photographs from the museum's collection and upload them to the museum's Flickr page, organizing them with proper metadata. This role suits those familiar with Flickr and local history.
