NMCAC prides itself in staying at the forefront of EMS technology by purchasing some of the most advanced equipment currently available. Our Ambulances are equipped with LifePak15 Cardiac Monitors, Zoll Z-Ventilators, LUCAS 3 CPR Devices, Stryker PowerPro 2 Stretchers and PowerLoad Systems. Some of our certified members are outfitted with a complete set of First Responder Equipment for their personal vehicles; including Automatic External Defibrillators, Portable Oxygen, and Trauma Kits in addition to ANSI Certified Turnout Gear and Motorola Portable Radios. With over 150 years of Service to the Town of New Milford and its surrounding communities Water Witch Hose Company Number 2 prides itself on commitment. Running close to 700 fire calls (NON-EMS) in 2016 WWHC #2 is looking for candidates to continue this tradition of excellence. Eligible applicants must be 21 years or older; have a valid Connecticut driver’s license: CDK Certifications are a plus; must be able to successfully complete a department mandated physical. Applicants who are accepted must be willing to devote time to training, fire calls, fundraising, community relations events, monthly meetings, and called drills. Successful candidates shall serve a probationary period of twelve (12) months beyond successful graduation from the Connecticut State Fire Fighter I course is strongly encouraged. Continuing education and training classes are offered regularly through the department. | Requirements: MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS •Must be a New Milford resident for at least one year immediately before the date of application. *** •Must be sponsored by a member in good standing. •Must complete a physician's physical examination. •*** 1 year residency can be waived under special circumstances. VOLUNTEER members 16 years of age to 90 are needed for both emergency and corporate positions. Fire and EMS members: free training, college credits and scholarships, LOSAP pension, NYS Tax Reduction, Yearly Pyhsical We meet on the first monday of the month at 7pm for a meeting. And every Thursday at 7 p.m. for drills and Sunday at 9am for equipment check / work details. Our corporate members consist of associate members and ladies auxiliary. These 2 groups participate in activities that support our emergency responder at time in the field. Fill positions on corporate committees and assist with community events and activities. If your looking to get involved in your community there is no organization that has a greater impact and ability to make a difference in our town. | Requirements: Must be 16 years old for firefighting. We welcomed trained firefighters but will train inexperienced applicants. Must pass physical in order to be a emergency responder.
