Sonoita-Elgin Fire District
SEFD is seeking community-minded volunteers to support our mission through the Fire Corps / Auxiliary program. Fire Corps members assist with non-emergency tasks that help our district run smoothly and allow first responders to focus on critical life-saving work. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in volunteer service to their community but not necessarily in becoming firefighters. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to contribute. A few examples of the kind of work you might do on a given day:

Clerical support
Event planning and staffing
Fundraising and community outreach
Post-incident information & referrals
Smoke check & lightning watch
Transportation & logistics
Motorist assistance
| Requirements: Some roles will require training, but if you can perform your assigned task safely and responsibly, we can use your help. To ensure alignment between individual contributions and our organizational purpose, SEFD emphasizes six core values that define who we are and how we serve. Volunteers are expected to represent themselves, the program, and the department accordingly. Professionalism: We hold ourselves and each other accountable for the highest standards of conduct, competence, and customer service. We prioritize safety and represent the uniform with dignity.
Excellence: We are committed to growth and learning, focused on progress rather than perfection. We trust the process, embracing challenges as opportunities, and consistently seek improvement through experience and reflection.
Integrity: We maintain honesty, transparency, and consistency in our actions, building trust within the organization and the community. We do the right thing, especially when nobody is watching.
Respect: We welcome diverse perspectives, recognize contributions, and engage with others professionally and empathetically. We invest in a culture where every member feels welcomed, valued, supported by one another, and empowered to succeed.
Pride: We recognize that we are stewards of a tradition built on service and sacrifice, and we honor the legacy of those who came before us. Through attention to detail, we preserve the reputation they built and the standard they set.
Trust: We guard the trust placed in us by the community with vigilance, living into our values every day. | Categories: Fundraising, Community Education, Department Support, Other, Fire Corps, Junior Members
