Tacna Fire Department
This is an un-paid volunteer position for the Tacna Fire Department. The TFD Non-Profit Grant Writer will work to secure funding for the TFD by writing grant proposals and providing supporting materials. This position may be held in conjunction with other volunteer positions within the TFD, including both fire-fighter and administrator positions. This position is open to the community, including current TFD members. Essential Duties may include the following: (1) Familiarizing self with an in-depth knowledge of the TFD, including the organization’s programs, goals, and financial needs; (2) Research available grants and stay aware of changing government policies and submission requirements; (3) Compose and submit proposals (including researching, identifying financial needs, obtaining supporting documentation, and maintaining records). Tacna Fire Department
This is an un-paid volunteer position for the Tacna Fire Department. Under the oral or written direction of higher-ranking officers, the on-call firefighter (FF) shall engage in fire prevention and firefighting activities, rescue activities, drive and operate all fire department apparatus and equipment, attend scheduled bi-monthly trainings, and will share responsibility for the maintenance of the fire station and equipment. The On-Call FF will be expected to respond to emergency calls during their assigned on-call schedule in a timely manner. Any changes to the on-call schedule must be approved and an alternate on-call FF identified. On-call schedules are provided ahead of time and remain consistent to avoid any lapse in area coverage. The on-call FF is also expected to provide support, as needed, to other emergency services. This often includes acting as first responders on scene to medical calls. The on-call FF shall conduct themselves as good stewards of the community, exhibiting strength in character and behavior while on or off duty.
