The Village of Sussex accepts applications for the Firefighter/EMT-Basic and Firefighter/Paramedic positions. These positions are part-time and paid on-premise. Shifts are 12 hours (06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00) and there is a weekend/holiday commitment. Part-time positions are limited to (2) 12-hour shifts per week (24 hours total). | Requirements: Minimum qualifications for the position are: 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED, possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record, a current State of Wisconsin EMT or Paramedic license, State of Wisconsin Firefighter I, and State of Wisconsin Driver/Operator - Pumper. Preferred, but not required qualifications, include: State of Wisconsin Firefighter II, State of Wisconsin Fire Inspector I, Driver/Operator - Aerial, and Emergency Services Instructor. Applicants will be subject to a pre-employment physical, drug test, and criminal background check. All applicants must provide copies of the required certifications and documents when submitting their electronic applications. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Benefits The pay rate starts at $17.00 per hour for Firefighter/Paramedic, $14.98 per hour for Firefighter/EMT-A, and $14.29 per hour for Firefighter/EMT-B. An additional $0.25 per hour is paid on top of this base salary for each of the following certifications: Driver/Operator - Pumper, Driver/Operator - Aerial, Firefighter II, Emergency Services Instructor, and Fire Inspector.
