This program is a great way for persons under the age of 18 to be introduced to the fire service and begin to learn that basics of firefighting. Junior Firefighters at EFD are provided with gear, uniforms and free training. Junior Firefighters are expected to attend trainings when available and respond to calls as their schedule permits. Friendship Fire & Hose Co #1
The Friendship Fire & Hose Co. No 1 (Elizabethtown Fire Department) is a busy suburban volunteer fire department that responds to 750 calls for service annually. To do this, we rely on a combination of firefighters that live-in the station as well as personnel that respond to the station from home. Home Responders are provided with gear, uniforms and free training in exchange for responding to a minimum number of calls and meeting training standards. All firefighters are eligible for the department's annual incentive program as well as tuition assistance for higher education. Furever Home Adoption Center
Provide temporary homes for cats and kittens while they receive necessary medical care before entering the facility. Fosters are responsible for bringing cats to the center for medical appointments.

Participate in organizing and running fundraising events to support local homeless animals. Tasks include data entry, public relations, event planning, and graphic design.

Assist with cleaning the facility during mornings between 9:30 - 11:30 am or evenings between 5:30 - 7 pm. Volunteers help maintain a clean and safe environment for the animals.
East Petersburg Fire Co #1
East Petersburg Fire Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1910. The history of the East Petersburg Volunteer Fire Company #1 dates back to 1909. The town was threatened by a fire which had started in a residence located near the center of town. Had it not been for the heroic efforts of the citizens of the town, both property and life would have been lost. This prompted the idea of organizing a Fire Company. Meetings were held in the public school house and an thus East Petersburg Fire Company #1 was born. On January 22, 1910, the Company was granted a charter by the state and from that date the business of the Company was operated according to the charter. Station 23 has remained a 100% volunteer station. Our members drop everything when the tones drop and prepare to protect serve their community. The dynamic of our station has continued to grow as we gain more members. Assist in planning and organizing various fundraising events such as private receptions, historic bus tours, and open houses. Collaborate with local businesses for in-kind donations and help network with parties interested in preserving history.

We are always looking for more volunteers to serve as Junior Firefighters (16-17 years old), Firefighters (18 years old and up) and Fire Police Officers (18 years old and up).
