Assist in organizing and managing various fundraising events such as Pho Donation Events, Dance Lessons, and Karaoke Singing Events. Volunteers will help with event setup, coordination, and participant engagement.

Help senior citizens or low-income and disadvantaged citizens in the Anoka County area fill out their income tax, property, or mobile home tax returns. No prior experience is necessary, and training is provided.

Reading Mentors are volunteers who are paired with a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grader for weekly reading sessions. Mentors are required to commit to volunteering on a weekly basis for the same day and time for a minimum of 8-12 weeks.

Materials assistants help keep the library neat and orderly with tasks such as putting carts of items in proper order, stamping, sorting, counting, or cleaning, preparing items for the book sale, and pulling items from shelves to fill hold requests.

Consider making a difference by driving seniors and veterans to and from medical appointments. This role provides essential support to those in need.

RSVP volunteers provide companionship for family caregivers. Volunteers socialize, play cards, and games, share a movie, or listen to music with the caregiver’s loved one while the caregiver receives respite.

Share your love of reading and skill-building with others at Metro North Adult Basic Education. Tutors receive training to work with adults needing help with basic reading and English as a Second Language.

Technology Assistants help patrons use computers and other technology at the library. Duties include helping patrons log on to public computers, assisting with printing, scanning, and photocopying, and helping users with digital library services.

Assist in gathering and documenting the stories of Vietnam veterans from Anoka County to ensure their experiences are preserved and shared. Volunteers will conduct interviews and help with archival processes.

Support the setup and maintenance of exhibits at the Anoka County Historical Society. Volunteers will help with organizing materials, guiding visitors, and providing information about the exhibits.

Review applications for potential adopters and fosters to ensure they meet the organization's criteria. This role involves assessing applications and conducting follow-up interviews if necessary.

Provide a temporary home for German Shepherds and Corgis until they are adopted. Fosters are responsible for the daily care and well-being of the dogs, including feeding, exercising, and socializing them.

Volunteers are needed to help provide care for animals at our clinic location. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, and providing love and attention to the animals. Training and necessary waivers will be provided.

Volunteers with experience in dispatch, case work, fundraising, marketing/graphic design/social media, and legislation are needed. Help raise funds and provide animal welfare education.

Help us at local one-off fundraising events by volunteering your time. Tasks may include setting up, greeting customers, and assisting with various activities to promote our mission and gather support for our cause.

Accept donations from the public, take inventory, and organize items at our Anoka Warehouse. Volunteer days needed include Tuesdays between 5:30 - 7 p.m. and Fridays between 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
