The Bemus Point NY Volunteer Fire Department has been proudly serving our community since 1920. We are currently recruiting new members for all positions, We welcome those of all ages who may have an interest in serving as an credentialed firefighter, EMT, or fire police officer, but also those who are interested is serving in other capacities such as ambulance driver/attendant, back office (computer, financial, general office), station & apparatus maintenance, fundraising, or recruitment activities. We welcome anyone to stop by our station on any Tuesday training night at 7:30PM. We're sure we can find something of interest for everyone-the possibilities are endless! | Requirements: Credentialed positions (Firefighter I & II, Basic Exterior Firefighter, EMT, Fire Police, Emergency Vehicle Operator) will require a commitment to initial classes and continued specialized, OSHA, and company training. We require you to complete our application and to pass an arson background check at the sheriff's office. Non credentialed positions typically do not require extensive state training. Seven out of ten firefighters and emergency responders are volunteers and we are looking for more volunteers like you. We invite you to join our family that'll always have your back and train you to serve our community in ways few can. Active members receive a Chautauqua Institution gate pass, Turner gym membership, activewear with the CFD logo for identification on EMS calls, and membership appreciation events. After two years of active service, members receive a partial real estate and income tax exemption, as well as higher education scholarship opportunities. NYS stipends are now available for firefighter training. All training, physicals, and gear / PPE are provided and/or paid for by the department. Other advantages include gaining skills to help build your resume, making new friends as part of a team, and making an immediate, positive impact on those around you. | Requirements: Residency within the fire district or a territory outside of the fire district that is afforded fire protection by the district. If you are not a resident of the district you may apply for membership if you work within the district and would be able to render active service. As a Guest Services Volunteer, you will welcome guests to the National Comedy Center and assist them throughout their visit. This role includes various tasks such as being an exhibit guide or coat check attendant, ensuring that visitors have a memorable experience.
