The Trail Attendant Volunteer will interact, educate, and explain to guests about the trail and ensure guest safety. Volunteers should be able to answer questions for guests and be familiar with the Cave Tour experience, other activities in the area, and have a basic knowledge of Ozarks history.

Wayfinders will be stationed at the entrance and throughout the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum to welcome, engage visitors, provide information on exhibits and artifacts, as well as offer helpful directions to different galleries and amenities. Volunteers should be knowledgeable about the displays and local activities or curious enough to learn!

Western Taney County Fire Protection District - located near Branson, Missouri - is a combination department with over 100 volunteers that respond to almost 3000 emergencies each year. Western Taney County Fire volunteers respond to these 911 calls with brush trucks, engines, tankers, rescues, and other specialty apparatus (boats, aerial apparatus, etc.) that are needed for firefighting, EMS, car crashes, water rescues, and numerous other requests for assistance. Along with the traditional volunteer firefighter model (the firefighter responds from home), Western Taney County Fire also offers a resident firefighter program where some firefighters can live full time in the fire station. There are different living quarters available through this program. For single firefighters we have dorm style rooms with a common area, and for married firefighters we have apartment style accommodations available. Reach out to us for information on available rooms and the requirements for being a resident. Western Taney County Fire places a high priority on training and education, and we provide training to our members every week. Thursday nights are when we get together to train, check our equipment, and build relationships. Summer Staff Volunteers serve an entire session (typically 3-4 weeks) and are required to be at least one year out of high school. Responsibilities include roles such as kitchen staff, waterfront safety, and program support.

Greeter and Wayfinder Volunteers assist guests by educating them on the property, animals, and conservation. Volunteers interact with guests and highlight the great animals and sights of Dogwood Canyon.

As a canyon guide, you will engage Dogwood Canyon’s guests by introducing them to the key features of the park and informing them about the park’s activities. Canyon Guides help ensure that everyone has a unique Ozarks experience.
