We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 1830-2100, then of the alternating 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at the same time, we do training. We are a value driven and mission focused department. If you are 14 years old and are thinking about becoming a firefighter or EMT? If you want to take things to the next level, the Bullard Junior Firefighter Program is just for you. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month where we will conduct a business meeting and do training. Additionally we drill once a month where you, the Junior, man station 2. During the weekend you will learn life skills like interviewing and boardsmanship, basic maintenance, leadership, budgeting, teamwork, cooking, on top of learning the ropes of what it takes to be a firefighter/EMT. | Requirements: To be a volunteer fireman, the basic requirement is to be 18, have no significant law enforcement or civil problems, is of good moral character, have the ability to learn and take that learning to the next highest level and raise the bar of excellence. Who Are Professional Volunteer Firefighters ? They are people like you - men and women of all ages and careers. They are students, police officers, career firefighters, accountants, doctors, business owners, teachers, mechanics and postal workers. They are people from all walks of life. They are people who will leave their homes and families on a moments notice to fight the menace of fire or to assist at the scene of an accident. Why Should You Volunteer ? Have you ever wondered about the sadness and horror a family goes through as they stand on their front lawn watching fire begin to destroy everything they own. Imagine the feeling they have as they hear the sirens of the approaching fire trucks, knowing that their friends, neighbors and members of the community are coming to their aid. Now imagine that same family, only this time there are no wailing sirens, no trucks and all of their possessions are gone forever. The Flint-Gresham Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1964. We service the share the southern boundary with the City of Tyler and service a rapidly growing community. | Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and in good physical condition. You must be able to pass a physical exam, drug screening and a physical agility test. In addition, you will be required to submit to a criminal background check. These exams are given AT NO COST TO THE APPLICANT. Upon acceptance, the new member will spend the first 6 months as a probationary member, attending regular meetings and training sessions in order to learn the basics of fire fighting. This training is provided at no cost to the member. Upon completion of the basic required courses, the member will be eligible to receive further training in such fire related qualifications as SFFMA Introductory Firefighter, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Confined Space & Technical Rescue, HazMat, Rapid Intervention, and CPR / AED, just to name a few. Our training is extensive and ongoing. In addition to training, members participate in various drills each month. Noonday is a small town just south of Tyler, Texas. Noonday fire department protects a large area in the southern part of smith county, including parts of lake Palestine. The department consists of two paid personnel that work Monday though Friday from 8:00A.M. to 5:00P.M., as well as 22 volunteers. Noonday Fire Department is a very active and progressive fire department that averages roughly 90 calls per month. Noonday is currently searching for more members to volunteer in the community.
