Assist in the preservation and protection of Wilson Lake by participating in various programs and initiatives. Volunteers will help educate the public about the importance of maintaining the lake's water quality and recreational value.

Volunteers survey lakes and ponds for invasive plants, spending time on their favorite body of water on their own schedule. Most surveying is conducted from the surface by canoe or kayak. Training in survey techniques and plant identification is provided.

Trained volunteers work in teams to perform property assessments for lakefront homeowners, offering suggestions for creating lake-friendly properties. Training is conducted by Maine Lakes and 30 Mile. Volunteers support individual lake teams in the watershed.

Volunteers assist in collecting data to track the health of lakes and ponds, measuring water clarity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and phosphorus. Monitoring is conducted May-September, twice a month. Both trained and untrained volunteers can support the program.

Volunteers conduct inspections of boats, trailers, and gear at public boat launches to prevent aquatic invasive species. They educate boaters about the threats of invasives. Volunteer shifts are typically 2-3 hours, one day a week, with flexible scheduling. Training is provided.

Trained volunteers work alongside technical leaders to identify sources of erosion and polluted stormwater runoff. Volunteers become local experts by attending an in-depth training session and assisting with the survey, then continuing public education by sharing their knowledge.

Trained Courtesy Boat Inspectors (CBIs) alert boaters to the risks posed by invasive aquatic species and educate them on how to prevent their spread. Volunteers will interact with boaters, providing information and guidance to protect North Pond.
