Join our dedicated team of volunteers to help maintain and improve the trails in the Alleghany Highlands. Volunteers are informed of potential trail maintenance days via our newsletter and group text, with regular maintenance scheduled at Douthat State Park on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

This volunteer opportunity is for high school students who have completed one year of high school and have completed local work crew training. Each work crew session lasts about one month during the summer, providing essential support to camp operations.

This volunteer experience is for individuals who have completed at least one year of college or are of college age or older. Summer staff roles require maturity and non-verbal witness, with sessions lasting about one month during the summer.

Every May, college and career-aged volunteers help prepare the camp for summer by engaging in various tasks such as mulching, painting, and housekeeping. No prior skills are needed, and volunteers will have the chance to enjoy the camp's beauty and activities.
