As a Fair Housing Tester, you will conduct controlled tests to investigate complaints of housing discrimination. After receiving training, you will be assigned to conduct tests either virtually or in person and submit detailed reports about your experiences.

The Department is staffed with 1 full time Deputy chief and 20 paid on call members who respond from home. The Fire Department operates out of 2 fire houses utilizing 3 Engines 1 Rescue Squad and 2 Support Command vehicles. The Garden Homes Fire Protection District is one of the last 100% volunteer fire departments left in Cook County. We are charged with providing Fire and EMS services for the Garden Homes community, as well as the towns of Merrionette Park and Robbins through automatic aid agreements, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
