Accepting all volunteer applicants! We are always looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to join our firehouse to assist in our service of the community. We are a small department located in Stowe, Pennsylvania, which is adjacent to the Borough of Pottstown. We service 3 municipalities in 2 counties as parts of our first due run area. West Pottsgrove Township, Portions of Pottstown Borough, and portions of Douglass Township Berks County. Our department has 4 pieces of apparatus to service these municipalities which are, a Tanker, an Engine, a Squad (light rescue truck) and a Fire Police unit. We are always open to accepting applications of current firefighters that would like to volunteer to help our department, or, if fighting fires isn't for you, we have positions open to drive the apparatus, or be a member of the support staff! If you are new to volunteer firefighting and would like to learn, we offer in house training and, provide access to the fire academy at no cost to you! Provide administrative support by helping with tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and responding to inquiries. This role supports the overall operations of the rescue.

Host arts and crafts workshops with children, inspiring creativity and artistic expression. Volunteers will organize and lead activities that encourage imagination and skill development.

Assist with social media, marketing, and IT to grow the community’s reach and impact. Volunteers will help manage online presence and promote the organization's initiatives.

Tend to community gardens by weeding, watering, harvesting, and nurturing plants to keep them vibrant and healthy. Volunteers will help maintain the gardens and support eco-friendly initiatives.

Upon graduation, each certified canine therapy team is assigned a location to volunteer based on the dog's temperament and the handler's preferences. Volunteers work in schools, hospitals, and veteran facilities, providing support and companionship to those in need.

Participate in cleaning up street leaves and debris to keep the neighborhood neat and tidy. Volunteers will contribute to creating a cleaner and more pleasant community environment.

Volunteers are needed to foster cats, providing them with a temporary home and care until they are adopted. No prior experience is necessary as training and guidance will be provided.

Help organize and assist with fundraiser events to support the rescue operations. Volunteers will engage with the community and help raise awareness and funds.

Assist in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions for the cats by cleaning kennels and feeding animals. This role may be physically active and requires attention to detail.

Organize activities and events that bring the community together, fostering unity and collaboration. Volunteers will plan and execute events that engage and connect community members.

Teach children, elders, and adults about gardening and nature, fostering a love for the environment and sustainable practices. Volunteers will engage with community members to share knowledge and inspire gardening skills.

We are looking for people that our interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter or have interest supporting their local fire company. We are a combination department with 3 career firefighters that are supplemented by volunteers. Foster Grandparents work with students one-on-one in schools or childcare centers to help them reach educational goals. Volunteers must be 55 or older and work a minimum of 15 hours per week, with orientation and training provided.

Adult education tutors work one-on-one or in small groups to assist students with reading, writing, or math skills. Volunteers must have a high school diploma and enjoy working with people, as well as support English as a Second Language learners.

Dignity Kitchen Volunteers assist in preparing ingredients, cooking, and serving meals for the childcare food program and YWCA events. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization.

Guide children of varying grade levels through educational tours and activities, fostering a love for history and learning.

Welcome and greet visitors, answer questions, and assist with ticket sales at the front desk.

Assist in live history demonstrations and other special events held at the site, engaging with the public and enhancing their experience.
