The West Manchester Township Fire Department is a busy suburban 100% Volunteer Fire Department that responds to 850 calls for service annually. To do this we rely on highly dedicated personnel within the community. We are seeking “Home Responders” and “Live-In” members. Live-Ins – For exchange for responding to calls for service, station duties, and training, live-ins reside at the fire station for FREE. We provide 4 college style dorm rooms between our two (2) fire stations. Each dorm has a beds, dressers/wardrobes, desks, wired/wireless internet access. In addition to free room-and-board, WMTFD also offers a variety of other incentives for your time and dedication. These include paid training, uniforms, retirement plan, and much more. Home Responders – For exchange for responding to calls for service, we provide FREE uniforms, FREE training, FREE Life Insurance up to $10,000.00, FREE Retirement Plan, FREE Fuel Reimbursement and much more. Support volunteers assist with various tasks around the center, including administrative duties and helping with events. Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the center's operations.

Volunteers and interns in animal care help with the daily care and rehabilitation of wildlife. Duties include feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health of animals under the center's care.

Interns will assist in developing and delivering educational programs about wildlife conservation and rehabilitation. Responsibilities include engaging with the community and promoting the center's mission.

Volunteers assist with maintenance tasks around the center, ensuring facilities are safe and functional. Scout projects are welcome to contribute to the center's upkeep and improvement.

Develop and coordinate volunteer programs, recruit and engage volunteers, and contribute to the monthly 'Volunteer Spotlight' or 'Pappus House Newsletter.'

Assist in decorating Pappus House for holidays, helping residents enjoy festive celebrations. This is a seasonal opportunity for groups or individuals.

Provide behind-the-scenes support through tasks such as mailings, public speaking, and fundraising. Your efforts help keep Pappus House running smoothly.

Help maintain the beautiful grounds of Pappus House by caring for herb, flower, and shrub gardens from April through October. Participate in Weeding Wednesdays or work individually.

Help plan the annual floating memorial event in October, contributing to a meaningful community gathering.
