The Irishtown Fire Company is a 100% volunteer fire company. And just like every volunteer company, we are always looking to bring in new perspective members. And you do Not have to run into burning buildings to make an impactful mark within a volunteer fire company. We have many was that you can give back to the community aside from the whole "burning buildings" thing. From community outreach, fundraising, administrative; you can find your niche and shine. We have a Fire Police unit that assists the Firefighters with scene safety that is always looking for members, and we are in the process of re-starting our Junior Firefighter program where kids can join at the age of 14 and kick start their career in the Fire-Rescue service. But if you do want to become a full fledged Firefighter and just don't know how to get trained, we can help with that too. Good Old Tails Senior Animal Rescue
Assist Good Old Tails Senior Animal Rescue by organizing and participating in fundraising and donation drives. Volunteers help raise funds and collect items needed for the care of senior dogs and cats.

United Hook & Ladder Company # 33 was formed in 2009 by the merger of the New Oxford Community Fire Company and the Abbottstown Fire Company. This merger was to provide more efficient operations and services provided to the residents and visitors to our response area. As of January 1, 2016 Bonneauville Volunteer Fire Company becomes part of United Hook & Ladder. We provide emergency services from our (3) Fire Stations. The main station (Station 1) and where our functions are held is at 21 North Bolton Street in New Oxford Borough. The Abbottstown Station (Station 2) is located at 38 East King Street in Abbottstown Borough. The Bonneauville Station (Station 3) is located at 10 Elm Avenue in Bonneauville Borough. We are an all volunteer department seeking new volunteer members. This includes members to be firefighters but also looking for volunteers to assist with public education, administrative needs and assist with our fund raising activities. We do not have excessive fund raising activities which sometimes deter people from volunteering. We only have 7 days a year in which we do fund raising, with 4 of those being our annual firemen's fair. We have a live-in program available at our New Oxford Station, great opportunity for college students.
