Last night DALE CITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTNMENT crews staffed and responded to dispatched 911 emergencies in Prince William County. We responded from DCVFD stations on DCVFD apparatus. We staff on nights, weekends and holidays. Join our ranks as active volunteer FIREFIGHTERS and EMTs. All training, equipment, and gear is provided. No previous experience is required. The mission of the Dale City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is to provide seamless fire, medical and environmental emergency services to those residing in and visiting our community. In partnership with the career personnel, our Board of Directors and the Fire and Rescue Association, our mission and motto "Second to None" will be attained. | Requirements: VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER AND/OR EMT - Satisfy eligibility requirements to pass applicant nation wide criminal background checks. REQUIREMNTS - Satisfy eligibility requirements to pass a NFPA 1582 physical. - Comply with the Prince William County’s Anti-Substance Abuse Program and submit to a drug test. - Adhere to the DCVFD Corporate Bylaws, Chief’s Running Rules, and Standard Operating Procedures and or Guidelines. - Adhere to all relevant State, Federal, and County laws and service requirements. - Adhere to adopted industry standards and best practices for operations. - Comply with the expectations of the Prince William County Sexual Harassment Policy. - Assignment to a station and battalion are at the option of the Department Chief, consistent with the needs of the DCVFD. - Serve and staff on the assigned duty crew, following the battalion schedule rotation. Members must stay overnight and be available for all department duties. - If a member cannot be present for his/her own duty, then the member shall be required to find a replacement to fill in. - Provide support to any DCVFD function deemed necessary by the Board of Directors or Senior Staff. The Board of Directors and/or Senior Staff may deem certain functions of the DCVFD to be necessary to ensure the successful operation of the DCVFD. - Attend the General Membership Meeting held the second Wednesday of each month. - Complete training for certification to satisfy minimum staffing within the first year of membership. - Satisfy formal and informal training to achieve staffing status within the first year of membership. - Attain and maintain compliance with the adopted uniform rank structure.
