Co-founded by Millburn native Dvora Inwood and Cornell University student Will Rosenthal of Cranford, Samaritan Scout emerged after a health challenge forced Dvora to pause her career. With a background in product development and entrepreneurship, Dvora was driven to create a more efficient way for people to find volunteer opportunities. "I wanted to do something meaningful," she shared. "My kids kept telling me how difficult it was to find volunteering opportunities, and I knew there had to be a better way."

The solution? An AI-powered search engine that scours nonprofit websites daily, collecting and organizing local volunteer opportunities. Unlike traditional directories that rely on nonprofits to manually submit listings, Samaritan Scout automates this process, continuously updating its database and making it easier than ever to find volunteer work.

For college students like Edison resident Oshmi Ghosh, who joined Samaritan Scout just months ago to assist with content marketing and public relations, the platform offers more than just a way to give back; it provides invaluable professional experience. "It's been a fulfilling experience, where I've not only learned about volunteering but also gained valuable skills in marketing and public relations," Oshmi explained.
