If you own a doggie daycare, boutique pet shop, or a local bar, consider partnering with Pupstarz Rescue to host an adoption event. This is a great way to help animals find their forever homes while promoting your business.

As a Chat Room Host Volunteer, you will provide support to individuals grieving the loss of a pet in a safe and compassionate online environment. Volunteers must complete the APLB Pet Loss Grief Specialist training and participate in a short internship program with experienced chat hosts.

Help transport dogs and cats across town or from NYC to Brooklyn. Your assistance is crucial as many fosters and adopters do not own a car, and your efforts will help ensure that animals get to their new homes safely.

Support rescuers with administrative tasks such as database management, reference checks, and record keeping to allow them to focus on saving animals.

Join the cat care team at PetSmart Store on Atlantic Ave, helping to feed, clean, and play with cats housed there. Also assist rescuers with cats in foster care.

Assist in transporting cats to and from the ASPCA spay/neuter van, veterinarian's office, or foster homes. This role is crucial for moving cats to safe environments.

Support Brooklyn Animal Action's fundraising efforts by writing grants, initiating fundraising ideas, and assisting at annual fundraisers.

Assist with setting up and breaking down kennels at weekly adoption events, engage with potential adopters, and care for cats during the event.

Provide temporary housing for cats in need, helping them transition from the streets to safe environments. Fosters can choose the duration of care, and support is provided by Brooklyn Animal Action.

Assist local animal shelters and rescue groups in the NYC area by helping with animal care, adoption processes, and other shelter activities. Volunteers may work with dogs, cats, rabbits, and other animals.

Participate in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs to help manage and care for feral and stray cat populations in NYC. Volunteers will trap cats, transport them for spay/neuter surgeries, and return them to their colonies.

Collect and distribute pet food and supplies, transport pets to the vet, and help with other one-off client needs. Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
