We need volunteers to transport our dogs from NJ area airports to their foster homes in NJ, NY, CT, and MA. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe arrival of dogs to their new homes.

We are always in need of fosters in the following states: NY, NJ, CT, PA, MD, and NH. The Sato Project provides a leash, harness, and crate, and covers any necessary veterinary expenses.

As a Chat Room Host Volunteer, you will provide support to individuals grieving the loss of a pet in a safe and compassionate online environment. Volunteers must complete the APLB Pet Loss Grief Specialist training and participate in a short internship program with experienced chat hosts.

Join the cat care team at PetSmart Store on Atlantic Ave, helping to feed, clean, and play with cats housed there. Also assist rescuers with cats in foster care.

Provide a space such as a basement or garage for cats to recover post-TNR operations. This temporary space is crucial for the recovery and well-being of the cats.

Support rescuers with administrative tasks such as database management, reference checks, and record keeping to allow them to focus on saving animals.

Assist in transporting cats to and from the ASPCA spay/neuter van, veterinarian's office, or foster homes. This role is crucial for moving cats to safe environments.

Provide temporary housing for cats in need, helping them transition from the streets to safe environments. Fosters can choose the duration of care, and support is provided by Brooklyn Animal Action.

Support Brooklyn Animal Action's fundraising efforts by writing grants, initiating fundraising ideas, and assisting at annual fundraisers.

Assist with setting up and breaking down kennels at weekly adoption events, engage with potential adopters, and care for cats during the event.

Assist local animal shelters and rescue groups in the NYC area by helping with animal care, adoption processes, and other shelter activities. Volunteers may work with dogs, cats, rabbits, and other animals.

Participate in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs to help manage and care for feral and stray cat populations in NYC. Volunteers will trap cats, transport them for spay/neuter surgeries, and return them to their colonies.

Provide physical pet care for clients, such as dog walking, helping with the litter box, and medication administration. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of one ongoing assignment per week for at least six months.

Collect and distribute pet food and supplies, transport pets to the vet, and help with other one-off client needs. Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Foster an animal in your home when a client is hospitalized. Volunteers must show proof of pet-friendly housing and provide updated vet records for pets in their home.

Assist at events and help to raise awareness for PAWS NY's mission. Volunteers can also propose ideas for new events.
