As a foster volunteer, you will provide temporary care for animals pulled from local shelters. The organization covers all vetting and provides behavior modification plans and necessary items for training. Fosters help prepare animals for adoption by ensuring they are healthy and well-behaved.

Assist with special events throughout the year, engaging with visitors and supporting event activities. Volunteers will help ensure the success of educational and community events.

Engage in various activities at the McAllen Nature Center, including signing in guests, nature photography, gardening, and wildlife observation. Volunteers can choose from a variety of shifts throughout the week.

Assist the Park Naturalist during the Creatures of the Night Program by interacting with visitors and helping with program activities. Volunteers should bring a flashlight, bug spray, and drinking water.

Greet visitors, answer questions, and maintain the Nature Center. Volunteers may also work on the visitor center gardens and enjoy birdwatching during their shifts.
