Volunteers at AAPS can engage in a variety of tasks including clean-up days, house maintenance, and assisting with special events and holiday programs. This role allows volunteers to showcase their skills and interests while supporting the museum's operations.

Docents at Haines House are responsible for giving tours at least once per year. They conduct standard 1-hour tours and assist with education and school groups, providing visitors with insights into the history of the Underground Railroad.

Assist in the care and maintenance of rabbits, including feeding, cleaning, and socializing. Volunteers will also help educate the community about proper rabbit care.

Husbandry Volunteers are required to contribute at least 12 volunteer hours per month, divided between 2 or more shifts. They assist with the care and maintenance of the sanctuary's resident birds of prey.

Docent Volunteers are required to contribute at least 8 volunteer hours per month. They play a vital role in educating visitors and assisting with the sanctuary's educational programs.

Volunteer drivers are needed for the food rescue program to pick up food donations and deliver them to hunger-relief programs. Volunteers must be comfortable lifting and carrying 10-40 pounds and are encouraged to make a 6-month commitment.

Volunteers assist in sorting, inspecting, relabeling, or repackaging donated food in the warehouse. This role requires individuals to be at least 10 years old, and youth volunteers aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Student volunteers at the NEOMED Free Clinic engage in hands-on learning while assisting healthcare professionals. They can take on roles such as primary care clerks, behavioral health clerks, and pharmacy clerks, with opportunities for leadership as they gain experience.

This position requires attendance at one meeting per month and serving as committee chairperson for one of the following committees: Nominating Committee, Building and Grounds, Public Relations, Publications, Membership, Programs and Activities, Fund Raising.
