Serve as a docent at the Visitor Center, leading tours and educating visitors about the Nachusa Grasslands. This role is primarily available during the summer and fall seasons.

Volunteers will participate in prescribed fire activities, including working the fire line, driving pumper units, spraying water, and ignition. Required training includes S-130 Firefighter Training and S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior. Volunteers must have reasonable physical fitness and wear appropriate safety gear.

Join a Stewardship Team to assist in restoration efforts, including harvesting and processing seeds, weeding, and applying herbicides. Volunteers may also lead workdays and participate in controlled burns with proper certification.

Contribute to the organization's online presence by managing social media accounts, writing thank you letters, and coordinating special events. This role can be performed remotely.

Participate in habitat restoration activities such as seed collection, weed management, and controlled burns. Volunteers are treated as colleagues and receive training at the same level as staff.
