Become a mentor and provide support and friendship to children and youth aged 5 to 16. No prior experience is necessary, and you can commit for a duration that suits you, ranging from one day to one year or longer.

Join us on December 13th at Burnsville High School to assist families in selecting free children's books for the holiday season. Volunteers will help answer questions and support families as they browse the selection of books available for children.

Event Volunteers assist in setting up and tearing down events, engage with the public about the rescue's work, and may bring their Dane as an ambassador. They help ensure events run smoothly and support fundraising efforts.

Photography Volunteers take high-quality photos of foster Danes for adoption profiles, helping to introduce the dogs to potential adopters. Their work is crucial in showcasing the dogs' personalities and aiding in their adoption.

Transport Volunteers pick up Great Danes and transport them to foster homes across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Dakotas. They work with the Transport Coordinator to ensure safe and efficient transport of the dogs.

Foster Mentors educate assigned foster homes on the foster process and rules, connect fosters with resources, and maintain communication with foster homes. They report incidents to the Director of Foster Homes and require excellent communication and organizational skills.

Home Visit Volunteers assess potential adoptive homes by visiting applicants, observing their environment, and determining suitability for a Great Dane. They ensure the home meets the specific needs of the breed.

Volunteers are welcomed at all schools within the district, where they can contribute their time and talents to benefit students. A volunteer services coordinator will assist in matching volunteers with opportunities that align with their interests and schedules, creating a meaningful experience for both volunteers and students.

Assist with organizing and managing adoption events, including setting up, interacting with potential adopters, and ensuring the safety and well-being of animals during the event. Volunteers should have good interpersonal skills and a passion for animal welfare.

Enjoy the outdoors while assisting park visitors with questions, directions, and providing an extra support measure in case of emergencies. Teams include Ski, Mountain Bike, Greenway & Park Trail, Dog Park, or Equestrian.

Help maintain areas planted with native grasses and wildflowers in highly visible areas. Opportunities include the new Holland Lake Pollinator Garden, the Visitor Center Backyard and Boathouse, and Holland Lake Bay.

As an Adopt-a-Park volunteer, you will be notified first by email when new projects come up that focus on your selected park. Opportunities include picking up trash, maintaining trails, improving park features, and reducing invasive species.

Volunteers will correspond with incarcerated individuals, offering companionship and emotional support through letters. This role helps to reduce feelings of isolation among prisoners.

Mentors provide guidance and support to individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. Volunteers will help mentees navigate challenges and build a stable life post-release.

K9 Kare Team volunteers commit to one shift per week for 6 months to supervise dogs during play and socialization at the training center. Both weekend and weeknight shifts are available.

Puppy Raisers welcome a service dog in-training into their home, providing love, guidance, and early training. They teach basic cues, take the dog in public, and submit weekly reports on the dog's behavior.

Assist in the operation of a monthly food pantry that provides supplemental nutrition to immigrants and other community members in need. Volunteers will help organize and distribute non-perishable food items.

Help collect and distribute gently used or new school supplies for students of all ages. Volunteers will assist in organizing donations and preparing them for distribution.

Done-In-A-Day volunteers participate in single-day projects such as events, fence building, painting, and kennel maintenance. This opportunity is ideal for groups wanting to make a meaningful impact without a long-term commitment.

Participate in organizing and managing a clothes and shoes drive. Volunteers will assist in collecting, sorting, and distributing donated items to those in need.
