The Volunteer Firefighter serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. They perform within the scope and policies and procedures of Three Star Volunteer Fire District and they perform their duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material responses, training, public education, and other activities associated with Department, including station and equipment maintenance, training, fundraisers, and work details. Works under the direction of the Fire Chief, but may also work under the direction of an officer directly for the department and is expected to function effectively as part of a trained team. They are also expected to perform their duties under adverse conditions and physical conditions that may pose a high risk of personal injury or exposure to hazardous conditions and infectious diseases. | Requirements: This job requires candidates to be able to perform duties that include the following: Must pass Firefighter I course of instruction (64-hours) Must pass Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course of instruction Must become CPR certified. Is required to attend regularly scheduled training in order to maintain the level of knowledge, skill, and ability necessary to function safely and effectively as a firefighter in accordance with state law, county protocols and standard operating procedures. Help deliver care packages to cancer centers in the greater Memphis area. Volunteers will be responsible for ensuring packages reach their destination and provide support to breast cancer fighters.

Assist in assembling care packages that include personal care items for breast cancer fighters. Volunteers will work in a team to ensure packages are filled and ready for delivery.
