Volunteers provide exercise and enrichment for dogs currently housed at the shelter. Walkers must attend a new volunteer training session prior to walking dogs.

Transport dogs from the shelter, foster homes, or boarding facilities to and from veterinary appointments, ensuring they receive necessary medical care.

Volunteers clean and sanitize crates between transports to ensure they are ready for the next use, maintaining hygiene and safety for the dogs.

Volunteers transport dogs from Athens to other rescue locations, such as meeting points in Lancaster or Columbus. This role is crucial for facilitating the rescue and adoption process.

Assist with planning, organizing, advertising, and attending fundraising or other special events to support the shelter's mission.

The Artist-in-Residence will work within Tenderfoot's space and mission to create original art projects. Options include sculptures, murals, or functional art that focus on sustainability and social or environmental justice.

The Web Designer-in-Residence will modernize Tenderfoot's website, improve user-friendliness, and make recommendations for new content and plug-ins.

The Graphic Designer-in-Residence will create digital and print artwork to advertise Tenderfoot's events and design materials such as t-shirts and donor thank-you cards.

The Engineer-in-Residence will assist with designing and implementing low-tech, environmentally conscious infrastructure projects, such as rainwater catchment systems and solar power solutions.

Our main protection area is the Village of Glouster, but we also provide protection to area within Trimble Township.
