Foster homes are essential to the rescue's operations, providing temporary care for greyhounds transitioning from the track into the adoption program. Volunteers are expected to provide a safe and nurturing environment, comply with organizational guidelines, and participate in events with their foster dogs.

Provide transportation for vet appointments, meet and greets, and moving dogs from shelters to foster homes. Volunteers help ensure dogs reach their forever homes safely.

Assist at various events by working at the booth, answering questions, selling merchandise, and helping with setup and take-down. Volunteers play a crucial role in engaging with the public and promoting the organization's mission.

Assist with organizing fundraising events, creating gift baskets, and contacting local businesses for gifts and sponsorships. Volunteers also promote events via social media or flyer placements.

Join the Western Reserve Community Band as a musician. Members participate in rehearsals and perform in concerts throughout the year. No auditions required, but there may be a waiting list for some sections.

Special Events Volunteers assist with events like Race for the Parks and Pack the Pond, as well as special projects such as invasive plant removal and maintaining monarch gardens.

Park Ambassadors are assigned to neighborhood parks where they periodically visit to answer visitor questions, promote Friends of Hudson Parks programs, and report maintenance issues to Hudson Parks staff.

Conservation Volunteers advocate for conservation, restoration, and preservation of park land and other Hudson natural resources. They work to restore ecological biodiversity, promote environmental stewardship, and participate in the removal of invasive plants.

Education Program Volunteers develop and deliver educational programs in Hudson parks, including activities for children and adults such as the Preschool Parents Children’s Fair and Wildflower and History Hikes.

Internships are available year-round in Community Outreach, Development, and Nonprofit Management. Interns gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and contribute to various organizational functions.

Committee members work in various areas such as Community Outreach, Development, Program, and Strategic Planning. They help identify and nurture relationships, oversee fundraising events, evaluate program impacts, and contribute to strategic vision and planning.

The One-to-One Caregiver Peer Support program connects caregivers in need with volunteers who have experience caring for someone with a mental illness. Volunteers provide participants with support and resources to better care for others. Training is provided through online webinars and ongoing monthly sessions.

Provide a temporary home for Shetland Sheepdogs in need. Volunteers will care for the dogs, including feeding, walking, and socializing them until a permanent home is found.

Guide newly diagnosed women and women in treatment to help them feel less alone. Pair up with one of our survivors to talk/text and encourage them along the way.

Join the Snowbelt Symphony family by volunteering for general office help, data entry, publicity, fundraising, and graphic design. On concert days, assist with setup and teardown, ticket sales, greeting, ushering, concessions, photography, and videography.

Join The Hope Still Lives Project to advocate and raise awareness on pregnancy loss. Volunteers will engage with the community to spread awareness and provide support to families affected by pregnancy and infant loss.

Conduct home and vet checks to ensure potential adopters meet the necessary requirements for adopting a Sheltie. Volunteers will need good communication skills and attention to detail.

Assist in transporting Shetland Sheepdogs to and from foster homes, vet appointments, and adoption events. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.

Assist with grooming Shetland Sheepdogs to maintain their health and appearance. Volunteers should have experience or willingness to learn basic grooming techniques.

Join us in building a supportive community for families with young children by offering family resources and creating a better world for everyone. Volunteers will assist in organizing community events and supporting family activities.
