The Secretary keeps accurate minutes of all meetings, provides copies to the Executive Board, and notifies members of meetings. They maintain a file of the Corporation’s correspondence and ensure proper distribution of mail.

The Civil Records Director acts as the Corporation’s representative at legislative and administrative hearings, recommends policies, and files reports on actions taken. They coordinate with the Records Preservation and Access Committee.

The Archives Director is responsible for the custody and preservation of the Corporation’s records and maintains an inventory of all legal documents and property.

The Genetic Genealogy Director monitors changes in DNA access laws, advancements in genealogy research, and terms of service affecting genealogy website users.

Capture moments and activities during events and workshops to help document and promote the organization's work. Responsibilities include taking high-quality photos and editing them for use in promotional materials.

Manage and create content for the organization's social media platforms to engage the community and raise awareness about events and initiatives. Responsibilities include creating posts, responding to inquiries, and tracking engagement metrics.

Record and produce video content for events and workshops, contributing to the organization's storytelling and outreach efforts. Responsibilities include filming, editing, and producing video content.

Provide temporary homes for cats and kittens transitioning to foster or adoptive homes. Ensure the well-being and care of foster animals.

Coordinate and manage volunteer activities and schedules. Ensure effective communication between volunteers and the organization.

Transport animals to and from veterinary appointments. Ensure safe and comfortable travel for the animals.

Assist in the distribution of donated pet food to local food banks and pantries, ensuring that pet owners in need have access to necessary resources. Volunteers will help organize and deliver pet food supplies.

Assist in organizing and collecting food donations at local schools and community centers. Volunteers will help sort and distribute collected items to those in need.

Volunteers are needed to help assemble backpacks filled with hygiene products, clothing, and Narcan for distribution to homeless shelters, veterans programs, and other outreach initiatives. Volunteers will work in an assembly line to pack and organize these essential items.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS Work involves the protection of life and property through firefighting, fire prevention, and emergency medical care activities; some of which may require strenuous physical exertion under such conditions as smoke, fire, heat, and cramped quarters. Work includes direct participation and continual training in firefighting and rescue work, fire protection inspection, equipment operation, and routine maintenance of equipment apparatus and of fire stations and grounds. Work is directly supervised by a department officer and is regularly reviewed through observations, inspections of work in progress, results obtained, and work performance evaluations. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under direct supervision of the Full-time Firefighter and Fire Chief, as well as utilizing the appropriate chain of command. SUPERVISION EXERCISED None. EMPLOYEMENT HEALTH • Successfully pass pre-employment physical and screening. • Successfully pass periodic/annual physical and screening, (by age category). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Utilizes the chain of command appropriately. • Responds to alarms of fire or other emergencies. • Operates fire apparatus as trained by departmental officer. • Lays and connects hose, directs water streams, raises and climbs ladders, uses extinguishers, bars, hooks, lines, and other equipment. • Ventilates burning buildings, removes persons from danger, and performs salvage operations. • Participates in fire drills and attends classes on fire fighting, fire prevention, rescue, medical care, equipment maintenance, and related subjects. • Administers emergency medical care and assists EMS personnel, as needed, up to their level of training. • Learns coverage area to ensure thorough knowledge of all streets, roads, and buildings. • Has knowledge and full understanding of response Standard Operating Guidelines and district assignments. • Inspects and makes repairs to dry hydrants. • Performs maintenance work on Fire Department equipment, furnishings, and structures. • Performs other duties as assigned. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS • This position is a prescheduled part-time position. • Firefighter will not always be on the regular D/L F.D. roster. • Firefighter will NOT carry a pager or will not respond when not working a scheduled shift. • Firefighter will be issued all essential gear and will be kept at the station. • May act as a Pump Operator in the absence of a Pump Operator. REQUISITE ABILITIES • Ability to learn a variety of firefighting duties, methods and techniques. • Ability to learn the use of tools and equipment used in fighting fires. • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. • Ability to react quickly in emergency situations. • Able to climb ladders and work at considerable heights. • Perform limited mechanical work involved in maintaining firefighting and rescue equipment and tools. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. • Ability to function effectively in physically demanding and sometimes adverse conditions such as heat, smoke, fire, and cramped quarters. These functions may not be present in all positions in this class. When a position is to be filled, the essential functions will be noted in the announcement of position availability.
