Membership in the company is open to all adult residents of Little Egg Harbor Township and its surrounding areas who are able to perform the duties of a volunteer firefighter regardless of race, creed, color, sex, age national origin, marital status or physical handicap. Applicants must be capable of fulfilling the physical requirements of a firefighter and are subject to a complete background check by Little Egg Harbor Twp. Police prior to being accepted. 2. Medical Examination: Applicants will be required to obtain a physical test record by a NJ licensed physician. The attached physical form is to be completed in full and returned with the completed membership application. Any incomplete physical forms or applications are subject to return if not completed properly or in full. 3. Once accepted by the company, the applicant will serve a probationary period of one year which will begin immediately upon formal admission. During this period the applicant is required to attend and pass Firefighter Level I and all other mandatory training set forth by the chief. 4.
