Each VFD in Grant County has it's own dispatchers - a bit unusual, but our Central Regional Dispatch handles all the emergency reponders in the county so they get busy. You can dispatch from home- we'll provide the antenna and radio, along with training. Log the department's reposne, which apparatus we take, who responds, keep a paper record of events on the fire, and contact outside agencies for support when needed. Join us at a monthly meeting - Ivanhoe Station at Highway 152 Milemarker 9 the first Wednesday of each month. Once the new Hanover Station is copleted, meetings will go back and forth between the two stations. | Requirements: Dispatchers need to be calm and organized, and coordinate with the other department dispatchers.
