Volunteering at the Becker Community Center lets you engage with your friends and neighbors while you do something that truly matters. Our Volunteers help with many jobs from seasonal outdoor cleanup to helping staff at special events throughout the city.

Assist FIA staff in planning the annual Gala and Golf events. Use your organizational skills to help create successful fundraising events.

Call, visit, or visit and complete light housework for seniors in their homes. Provide companionship and support to help seniors feel less isolated.

Help pick up or deliver furniture to individuals and families in need. Support the Furniture for Families Program by providing essential household items.

Transport people to medical appointments and the store. Help seniors maintain their independence by providing essential transportation services.

Complete home maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and install grab-bars. Help ensure the safety and comfort of seniors in their homes.

Assist with shoveling snow, mowing, raking leaves, and weeding gardens or yards. Help maintain the outdoor spaces of seniors and families in need.

Our cleaning team is very important in keeping our facility looking great. Sweeping, mopping, bathroom cleaning, etc. are part of the duties.

Accept delivery of weekly Second Harvest Food orders. Check delivery for accuracy, date boxes, and put food onto labeled shelves in stockroom.

Assist clients during their trip to the food shelf or clothing center. Work one-on-one with clients through the intake and shopping process.

Take client delivery orders by phone. Food packing teams and delivery teams are needed. Delivery is for seniors and disabled people.

Sort through donated food and clothing. Check dates on food, inspect clothing for quality. Some lifting may be required.

The Big Lake Fire Department is seeking self-motivated candidates who possess excellent professional and interpersonal skills for Paid-On-Call Firefighters. The Big Lake Fire Department currently has 38 Paid-On-Call firefighters to provide fire suppression, rescue and first aid, fire prevention, and community service. Individuals must meet response time requirements which include living within a response zone of 7 miles to the Big Lake Fire Station. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is essential. Compensation and Benefits All on-call firefighters are part-time employees of the city and township and are compensated for actual hours worked, including emergency responses, training, and special events. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour with annual steps with satisfactory reviews. Through the Big Lake Fire Department Relief Association, every on-call firefighter also earns a pension of $5,500/year (effective January 2023), which is paid in-full after 20 years of active service. | Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent degree, residency within the 7 mile response zone, a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and clear criminal background. Transport older adults without transportation to important destinations using your own vehicle. Help older adults get to medical appointments, shop for groceries, and remain independent in their homes.

Assist in running the thrift shop, which is entirely operated by volunteers. Opportunities include organizing items, assisting customers, and maintaining the shop.

Volunteer and leadership opportunities within food security programs. Help with packing events, coordinate food drives, or donate non-perishables to sustain food security programs for Wright County.

Provide outreach and connect WCCA caregiver consultants to potential clients in Wright County. Help spread the word about Caregiver Consultation, working with local churches or other groups to share the message and inform the public about the program.

Assist with household improvement projects for older adults, including mowing lawns and shoveling snow. Help reduce falls and improve the quality of life for WCCA older adult clients.
