Each Monday night a training class is scheduled to meet the needs of firefighting essentials, Fire and EMS cooperative training, EMS skills, and other selected topics. Nationally recognized instructors have been brought in for specialized sessions. Abingdon Fire Company has an in-house scholarship program open to members and immediate family members. In the role of Shower Host, you will guide guests to the showers, provide them with necessary supplies, monitor their usage, and ensure the showers are sanitized after each use. This position is crucial for maintaining a safe and clean environment for guests.

As a Photographer Volunteer, you will capture photos and videos of community moments both inside and around Harford County. Experience in photography is desired, and having your own camera is preferred.

As a Front Desk Greeter, you will welcome guests, sign them into the program, and help create a warm environment. This role is vital for ensuring guests feel welcomed and supported during their visit.

As a Food Pantry Host, you will greet guests seeking food resources, guide them to the pantry, help them select items, and assist in carrying items to their car if needed. You will also be responsible for restocking the pantry as necessary.

As a Videographer Volunteer, you will assist in filming content and supporting camera work. Experience in videography is required, and having your own equipment is preferred.

As a Social Media Volunteer, you will create, publish, and manage content across various digital platforms to promote The EPICENTER’s vision. Proficiency in Canva and social media platforms is required, along with a minimum commitment of 3 months.

Guest speakers are needed to share their experiences and provide motivational talks to young men, helping them see the possibilities for success in life. Speakers should be able to relate to youth and inspire them to pursue positive paths.

Volunteers will mentor young men, ages 12-19, to help them set and achieve goals, providing positive role models and guidance. Volunteers are expected to engage in discussions and activities that promote leadership and personal development.

Groups of 6-8 people are needed to prepare and serve hot meals, prepare takeout containers, and clean up after lunch. Each group is responsible for providing the entrée for approximately 350 people.

Volunteers are needed to bag groceries and sort food donations for distribution to guests each week. This role involves organizing items from various donors such as Wawa, Panera, and BJ's.
