The Bendersville Community Fire Company has served the community for over 100 years. Over the years we have provided several services to our community. Fire suppression, Motor Vehicle efforts, EMS, land rescue, and much more. These efforts come with a price tag. Over the years we have made fundraising not only about supporting our services but also away for the community to come together and enjoy great events with great food to support a great cause. This obviously creates more time for our volunteers to provide banquet quality foods to the public instead of providing the services that we hold dear to our hearts. We are in search of an individual able to coordinate the hall rentals, food ordering, and other duties. | Requirements: This individual must be aware of the serving standards, and be familiar with cooking. Certification in the Serve Pro industry is required to be obtained within the first 60 days. This individual will be in charge of all the food ordering for banquets, and fundraising events. Communication will be key to the sucess of the postion as the individual will be responsiable for coordinating other volunteers for help for the banquets, and coordinating with the committee chair persons need for fundraisers. Engage with visitors at the George Spangler Farm, sharing knowledge about Pennsylvania barns. Volunteers are needed every Sunday during the summer season, with shifts available from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Training and resources will be provided.

United Hook & Ladder Company # 33 was formed in 2009 by the merger of the New Oxford Community Fire Company and the Abbottstown Fire Company. This merger was to provide more efficient operations and services provided to the residents and visitors to our response area. As of January 1, 2016 Bonneauville Volunteer Fire Company becomes part of United Hook & Ladder. We provide emergency services from our (3) Fire Stations. The main station (Station 1) and where our functions are held is at 21 North Bolton Street in New Oxford Borough. The Abbottstown Station (Station 2) is located at 38 East King Street in Abbottstown Borough. The Bonneauville Station (Station 3) is located at 10 Elm Avenue in Bonneauville Borough. We are an all volunteer department seeking new volunteer members. This includes members to be firefighters but also looking for volunteers to assist with public education, administrative needs and assist with our fund raising activities. We do not have excessive fund raising activities which sometimes deter people from volunteering. We only have 7 days a year in which we do fund raising, with 4 of those being our annual firemen's fair. We have a live-in program available at our New Oxford Station, great opportunity for college students. Conduct monthly water quality monitoring in partnership with ALLARM. Volunteers will use field kits to test water samples for various parameters, contributing to the health assessment of the watershed.

Participate in monthly creek cleanups to remove debris and improve the health of the Conodoguinet Creek. Volunteers will work in teams to collect trash and ensure the creek remains a valuable natural resource for the community.

Help maintain the park by pulling weeds or participating in weekend work days. Join the site committee to assist in planning and implementing park improvements.

Assist in spreading the word about the dog park by wearing branded apparel, distributing brochures, taking pictures, and working on the website or Facebook page.

Help keep the dog park open by joining us at community events. Volunteers are needed to staff tables, walk in parades, help organize Yappy Hours, and plan new events and fundraisers.

The Irishtown Fire Company is a 100% volunteer fire company. And just like every volunteer company, we are always looking to bring in new perspective members. And you do Not have to run into burning buildings to make an impactful mark within a volunteer fire company. We have many was that you can give back to the community aside from the whole "burning buildings" thing. From community outreach, fundraising, administrative; you can find your niche and shine. We have a Fire Police unit that assists the Firefighters with scene safety that is always looking for members, and we are in the process of re-starting our Junior Firefighter program where kids can join at the age of 14 and kick start their career in the Fire-Rescue service. But if you do want to become a full fledged Firefighter and just don't know how to get trained, we can help with that too. South Mountain Volunteer Fire Department is looking for committed and dedicated people who want to make a difference in the community. South Mountain Volunteer Fire Department responds to fire, medical, and hazardous materials incidents. The fire department also provides Non Emergency Transportation. It serves over 1800 residents in the following areas Guilford and Quincy Townships in Franklin County, and Hamiltonban Township in Adams County in their primary response area. The department also responds to mutual aid requests to neighboring communities. The fire department delivers fire prevention and safety educational programs to the community. South Mountain Volunteer Fire Department responds to over 300 fire and emergency services calls a year.
