The Bendersville Community Fire Company has served the community for over 100 years. Over the years we have provided several services to our community. Fire suppression, Motor Vehicle efforts, EMS, land rescue, and much more. These efforts come with a price tag. Over the years we have made fundraising not only about supporting our services but also away for the community to come together and enjoy great events with great food to support a great cause. This obviously creates more time for our volunteers to provide banquet quality foods to the public instead of providing the services that we hold dear to our hearts. United Hook & Ladder Company # 33 was formed in 2009 by the merger of the New Oxford Community Fire Company and the Abbottstown Fire Company. This merger was to provide more efficient operations and services provided to the residents and visitors to our response area. As of January 1, 2016 Bonneauville Volunteer Fire Company becomes part of United Hook & Ladder. We provide emergency services from our (3) Fire Stations. The main station (Station 1) and where our functions are held is at 21 North Bolton Street in New Oxford Borough. The Abbottstown Station (Station 2) is located at 38 East King Street in Abbottstown Borough. The Bonneauville Station (Station 3) is located at 10 Elm Avenue in Bonneauville Borough. We are an all volunteer department seeking new volunteer members. This includes members to be firefighters but also looking for volunteers to assist with public education, administrative needs and assist with our fund raising activities. Conduct monthly water quality monitoring in partnership with ALLARM. Volunteers will use field kits to test water samples for various parameters, contributing to the health assessment of the watershed.

South Mountain Volunteer Fire Department responds to fire, medical, and hazardous materials incidents. The fire department also provides Non Emergency Transportation. It serves over 1800 residents in the following areas Guilford and Quincy Townships in Franklin County, and Hamiltonban Township in Adams County in their primary response area. The department also responds to mutual aid requests to neighboring communities. The fire department delivers fire prevention and safety educational programs to the community. South Mountain Volunteer Fire Department responds to over 300 fire and emergency services calls a year. Become a volunteer firefighter/EMT with FHC. We are looking for individuals who are interested in giving back to the Newville community. We are currently seeking volunteers for the following positions - firefighter, EMT, social member (assist with fundraising and administrative tasks), and junior members (ages 14-17). We are an all volunteer department operating an engine rescue, engine tanker, heavy rescue, brush unit, 3 basic life support ambulances, and 3 support units. We respond to approximately 350 fire/rescue incidents a year, and 1300 EMS incidents. Last year we had 23 working fires, 13 vehicle accidents with entrapment.
