Join our team of passionate volunteers and make a direct impact on the lives of animals. Volunteers help with daily care, feeding, and socialization of rescue dogs, ensuring they are healthy and happy while awaiting adoption.

Provide a temporary home for animals in need while they wait for adoption. Fostering helps save lives and opens up space for more rescues, offering love and care to dogs in a home environment.

Foster parents temporarily open up their homes to animals while the organization matches them with their forever homes. Fosters provide care in private homes, allowing rescues to receive medical care and flourish.

Volunteers are needed to support the Chesapeake Rescue Alliance's mission to care for the local animal community. Volunteers will be involved in various activities, with training and mentorship provided.

Assist in various aspects of theatre production, including set design, costume creation, and stage management. Volunteers will work closely with production staff to ensure smooth operations during performances.

Assist in conducting dog training classes, helping with setup, and supporting participants during sessions. Volunteers should have a passion for animals and a willingness to learn about dog training techniques.

Contribute to the development of online educational content for Wag Workshops' learning library. Volunteers will research and write articles on various pet-related topics.

Provide remote support and advice to pet owners seeking help with pet behavior issues. Volunteers should have strong communication skills and knowledge of pet behavior.

Present one-hour workshops on pet-related topics to educate the community. Volunteers should be comfortable speaking in front of groups and have expertise in a relevant area.

In-person volunteers help with tasks such as picking out and raking paddocks, cleaning water troughs, and repairing fences and barns. Opportunities are available from April through October/November on Sundays, with specific hours depending on the weather.

Provide virtual tutoring sessions to students in various subjects, helping them improve their academic skills and confidence. Volunteers will work with students of different ages and learning needs.

Assist in the creation of a community mural, working alongside local artists and community members to bring art to public spaces. Volunteers will help with painting, organizing materials, and engaging with participants.

Assist with daily stall maintenance, cleaning water buckets and troughs, raking, cleaning up around barn, arenas and fields, leading, grooming, bathing, and managing horses. Potential exercise riding opportunities available after a riding evaluation and commitment affirmation.

For volunteers with skills in handy/maintenance work, assist with fence, equipment and other repairs, building/construction, painting, and other farm operations.

Volunteers with experience in public relations, grant writing, marketing, or fundraising are needed to help with community outreach and spreading the word about the organization.

Assist with special fundraising events such as 'Walk for the Animals' and 'Holiday Craft Fair'. Volunteers help with event setup, management, and cleanup.

Volunteers assist with walking dogs to ensure they get adequate exercise and socialization. Additional training is required for this role.

Volunteers help with socializing cats to prepare them for adoption by spending time with them and providing affection.

Assist with grounds maintenance, gardening, and beautification of the dog park to ensure a pleasant environment for animals and visitors.
